Conference is awesome!

As many of you know, this past weekend was General Conference, where our Prophet and his apostles and the other church leaders get to talk to the whole LDS population at the same time. I love this weekend. First off, it is a great chance to sit back and relax a bit and regain your composure after a ton of hard homework that your professors have all decided to throw at you at the same time (not that this happened to me...). It is also a really terrific weekend because I learn what I need to work on in my life and i discover new ways that I can improve myself.
My favorite talk this year was given by Holland, when he talked about how you don't have to know. All you need to do is believe. belief is so much more important in this life than knowing, because honestly, not a whole lot of us get to KNOW that the church is true. We all just have to BELIEVE it is.
Between conference sessions, my sister and I decided to do some service and weed my grandparents flower beds. This took a whole lot longer than we expected, and there were sooo many more 'visitors' in the ground than we thought there would be.
And this was only a few of them!! It was absolutely nutso! And GUESS WHAT! I actually held one! That's right :) I braved up and faced my intense fear of bugs and held a worm! I am proud of myself and my courage. It's all from conference, guys.
On Sunday, I got to watch conference with three of my favorite people ever! My sisters Mallory, Makayla, and my brother-in-law Jordan. They are all awesome and it was so fun to get together and hang out!I love them to pieces! Unfortunately, I did not get to see my best friend ever this weekend when she came down to Salt Lake for conference. I couldn't get a ride there, and I am sad because of it. :( Hopefully we will have another chance to get together soon!

Gah! I cannot believe that there are only 2 weeks left of school!! This year has gone by soo fast! It feels like it just started, and yet it's drawing to a close. I have met so many amazing people, and I am going to miss my roommates sooo much! Most of them will be going on missions in the next year, and I wish them well and know they will be terrific!
BTWs, I am staying for Spring/Summer, so if anyone wants to hang out, let me know! I will be more than available!

Easter!

Easter was a blast this year! I was worried about it because it was my first year away from home while celebrating a major holiday, but I am really lucky that my sister is around! She took good care of me!
But seriously now..... We had a blast together!! I love her to pieces and am so grateful that she is a part of my life! To start off the weekend, we rounded up some eggs, because what is Easter without boiled eggs?? We got the coolest dye this year!!! It made the eggs all pretty and blotchy!
The eggs are pretty tight and awesome. We had a really fun time painting them. Makayla and I also made baskets for each other! They were pretty sweet and filled with deliciousness. We also made one for Jordan, because we love him too and didn't want him to feel left out at all ;).

Mine is the delicious-looking milk chocolate one. Yum! This candy is still going to last me for a while... like at least another week! :P We even hid each other's baskets around the house like the Easter bunny used to do for us when we lived back home. Easter has always been a really special holiday to me. We have always celebrated the candy part of Easter separate from the true purpose of Easter; the Savior. We celebrate Bunny Day on Saturday, and that is when we do egg hunts and candy and all that jazz, and the sabbath is reserved for the Lord. It really helps me focus on Christ and all that He has been willing to give and sacrifice for me. I love him and all he does for me!
All in all, Easter was really fun and I loved it! I am grateful for the proximity of my sister to me!

Sage Advice

Never let life get you down. Things don't always go your way, but you need to remember that God will always be there for you and He loves you. Let Him take the wheel. He knows how to best navigate the storm better than you. Whenever I am having a tough time, I think of this and I feel His love for me and I know that although I may not have many people here who deeply care for me or care about what happens to me, God will always love me and I am so grateful for that. Jesus is my best friend, and I am grateful for His love and protection for me.

Long Time no See!!

It has been FOREVER since I last posted on here, and I decided it is due. A lot has happened in the past month. I got to go home and visit my family for a weekend which was absolutely fabulous! I miss them tons and wish I could see them way more often!  I also acquired a new fish whom I have still not yet named even though its been a few weeks.... Eventually he will have a proper name, I promise! These things just take time!
I truly believe he is a beauty! Unfortunately at my current housing I am not allowed to have pets, so he is being watched over by my sister until next semester when I am living at Montecello.
Eek!! I found out today that we only have five weeks left of school. FIVE!!!! It has been one of the craziest years of my life! Good in tons of ways, and bad in others, but I have come to know a lot more of who I am as a person and what my limits are. Sometimes it is hard not to compare myself to my roommates because they are all absolutely amazing and I feel like I could never measure up to them, but I am learning that it is important to remember my own worth. I am a daughter of God and He made me the way I am.
Anyways.....
So about a week ago, I was in the kitchen minding my own business, when two of my roommates came in and started talking with me/each other, and soon enough....
Yeah... I don't really understand it either, but I love them both anyways!! College is crazy and does super crazy things to ya! Since my last post, nothing new and exciting has happened in regards to boys. I haven't been on a date in a few weeks (Get on it boys!! ;)) and so I mostly am just a bum. I got to wander around downtownish Provo last weekend, which was super fun! I was with awesome people and it was a hoot!
Life goes on!! Right now I have one of my bestest most favoritest friends in the whole world staying with me and I couldn't be happier!! She is such an amazing girl! It is Spring Break for her college in Kansas (lucky duck) and so she decided to come and visit me. I feel so happy that she is here and enjoying BYU and that she is willing to put up with all of us Mormons :) Sara is an amazing friend and I am so glad that she is willing to put up with all of my weird quirks. Later on this week I have my other best friend from back home coming to visit and I am super stoked about her coming too! I haven't seen her since August before I left for college, and she is moving to Switzerland this year, so I am so excited to see her!!! It is one of the last times that Las Tres Amigas will ride together in a while!!!

Basically, college life is crazy! It never ever stops being busy and fun and exhausting. I enjoy college so much more than I did high school. To end this post...

I thought you all would enjoy a picture of me and my chalk boyfriend who got shackled to the wall. Peace and blessings!

Kiss?!

Soooo.... It is now the second week of February, the month of love. I hate the month of love. It is a perfect time for SINGLE AWARENESS! My theme song is Single Ladies by Rihanna... But seriously, usually I hate this month. Last week, something happened that might change my opinion however. I went on a fabulous date, and had a lot of fun! (which is unusual; not the fun part, but the date part). After the date, guess what happened?? I got kissed! Lesbehonest here; I was not expecting it to happen! But hey, you never know, right? It was a perfect piece of my week that helped make it a fabulous one. I believe that even if I do not have a Valentine to call my own, this month can still be a good one!

Kool-Aid, Diablo, and more!

This past week has been super fun! I got a lot done, and my classes are starting to settle into more of a pattern than before. Also, I had the opportunity to sing in the choir for the CES Devotional choir on Janury 13th. Definitely a highlight of this year so far for me. If you want to see pictures, just look at my facebook. Creep on me, I don't mind!
After the choir was done and sung, I had a lot more time on my hands, and instead of just filling it up with homework like I should have, I took to playing Diablo II. This is a game I grew up with, and once more, I have become addicted to it. Seriously, it is super fun, especially when you play it together with someone. I went to my sister's place for the weekend, and her, my brother-in-law, and me played for hours and it was tons of fun! I seriously need to cut back......
I also dyed my hair tonight. I have been wanting to try dying my hair with kool-aid for months, and I finally got around to it! I used red, and I wonder if anyone will notice :P I hope it stays in for a while. If not, I will be disappointed and have to do it again. Altogether, so far this semester has been really amazing! I am loving it so much and am excited for what the future has to bring!

Christmas and Beyond

It is well in to the new year and new classes. But first, I want to touch on how Christmas break went. It was so nice to finally get to go home! I missed my family and my friends a ton! One of the first things I did when I got home was go to 7/11! I missed my slurpees!! My BFF Sara came with me, and it was the best! I went and saw The Hobbit over break as well. It was super good, but I admit, I was a little disappointed. To me, it wasn't as good as Lord of the Rings, and it felt like it went on for far too long. But on the whole, it was good!
Sara came over almost every day, and I loved hanging out with her! I didn't realize just how much I missed her until we got to hang out again. Now that she is gone again, I miss her tons! As a family, we went caroling, which is something I had been dying to do for a looong time! I also had my birthday on the 21st, and the world didn't end, so I am happy. I get to keep on going to BYU! Christmas was amazing! I got everything that I asked for, and more! My parents know me so well! I loved the time I got to spend with my brother and sisters and I miss them so much.
After coming back to BYU, I inherited three new roommates. I was worried at first that I might not like them, but it turns out that they are super nice! I hope that we will all get along really well. So far, I like all of my new classes except for Writing 150. I don't like my teacher which really stinks, but oh well! I will just try my best in that class and hope things turn out all right.  I am hoping that this year takes me farther than last year and that I can reach all the goals I have been setting!
